The Trip

You cannot believe how long the flight over here was. I was on a plane for 21 hours. Can you imagine sitting at your desk for that long? The good thing was the flight left Tampa as the sun was setting and I landed in Sydney just as the sun came up behind us. So it seemed like the whole trip lasted only one night, that is because the plane was traveling the same direction as the sun so we could fly for a day and stay in the dark the whole time.

Brisbane

First Stop
Brisbane is a city on the east coast of Australia. It is about 500 miles north of Sydney and is one of the major cities of the entire country.

Noosa

Second Stop
Noosa is a resort area on the east coast of Australia in an area known as the Sun Coast. It is north of Brisbane about 75 miles. It is a very popular vacation destination for much of the whole country not to mention all the out of country tourists that visit it also. The other resort area on the east coast is the area just south of Brisbane, it is known as the "Gold Coast".

Crocodile Hunter

I learned that the Crocodile Hunter from Animal Planet TV show is based at the Australian Zoo. So I traveled there to get a look at his place. Hope you enjoy the tour.

Seen any good TV lately?

Watching TV is very different here. I have tried all week but I can not for the life of me figure out Cricket or Rugby. Believe me that is all that is on the TV. It is crazy but one "game" of Cricket goes on for about 3 days. Currently Australia is playing India at India. Every time you turn on the TV they are still playing and the same guy is still batting. One guy may bat for the whole day. It goes on and on. The only time they stop the game is for "tea time breaks".
I flew on my last leg from Sydney to Brisbane on Ansset Airlines. Well on board was one of the pro Rugby teams, the Wests Tigers. They got beat like a drum in Brisbane. So the next day on TV they are convicting players of drug use and firing the coach. I recognized the guys under the drug charges from the flight. Rugby like Cricket is serious business here.
They have this one show called "Missing Link". It is a cross between Survivor and Millionaire. Each member of the team answers qestions for a round. At the end of the round the team votes one member out. That person then has to do the "Walk of Shame". Anyway the woman who is the "Regis" is a total witch. She is mean! She talks to the contestants like they are dogs. There was an article in a magazine about her this week. She has played a villain on the Soaps here for years. She is really scary.
I did see Survivor the other night. It is about 2 weeks behind what they are showing in the US. I saw the one where the guy fell in the fire and got burned very bad.
