Downtown Brisbane

Here is a picture of downtown Brisbane that I took from the plane as I was flying in from Sydney.
I'll be staying at the Sheraton in Brisbane.
South African War Heros

In downtown Brisbane I found this statue. As you can read from the inscription it is to honor
The Queensland Heros who fell in the South African War of 1899-1902. I found it interesting
the Australia participated in a war in Africa just to help out their allies.
Also the downtown area was full of shops. There were trongs of people there. It is a beehive
of activity. I found a post office and bought post cards. They are in the mail, one is going to
the office at LCC. Check with Mrs. Williams to see when it arrives.
Wierd Tree

On the grounds next to the statue above were these wierd trees. I have no idea what kind of tree
it is but I will do my research and see if I can find out.
